A state of blissfulness: not available at my workplace...

For the record, I hate being sick. When I'm sick, I can't exercise, and if I don't exercise, it makes it harder for me to cope when I'm finally well enough to start training again. Thank God for my Jughead-style metabolism to ensure that I don't get fat.

[Snipped. To summarise what was going on in this paragraph, I was swamped with paperwork.]

To top it off, my place at Melbourne University next year is already threatened by the fact that it's supposedly not confirmed yet.

If anyone needs to look for me, get a queue number, and be prepared to wait a fucking long while. I'm off looking for an elusive town called Riverdale...

Shredding on an accoustic guitar is possible...

Yes, it is possible to shred on an accoustic guitar. While I am aware that most people view guitar-shredding as ridiculously-fast soloing, I find that accoustic shredding actually packs quite a lot of feeling and meaning to it. Sure, it's not as fast but, for a guitar that requires quite a lot of strumming and fretting strength, it's still quite impressive.

If you want an example, think "the 50s'.

One of the threads on the Archie Comics Fan Forum (http://www.archiefans.com/) has an interesting discussion on the use of the tambourine in bands. While you don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out how to use it, it is, in a way, quite important when playing simple Archies-style bubble-gum pop. As such music is best listened to when it is being played fairly slowly, the tambourine is meant to be used as a metronome so that the music is kept as a tight, slow but enjoyable package.

On a side note, I've bought a few new Archie Comics earlier today. Once I've read 'em a few times, I'll get around to reviewing them (comic: full story, digests: new stories only).

First post for a new start

As the title suggests, I have indeed attempted to keep a blog on BlogSpot before, but it kinda fell apart.

Well, as to what I'm going to be posting here on my blog, it'll be a sort of therapy for myself. I might just write about how my day was, let my anger out (and trust me, if you're working for the Company I'm in in the Singapore Armed Forces, you will have a lot to moan and bitch about), or just review stuff, ranging from movies and CDs to guitar equipment and Archie Comics.

Yes, you just read that correctly. Archie Comics. I love reading them. So what?

Anyway, recap for the week. Fell ill while on Company Orderly Sergeant duty on Monday, with a minor fever and me coughing up a bit of blood. The visit to the medical officer on the following day ended with me receiving only some panadol and cough syrup. I guess even the SAF is too cheap to give out generic antibiotics.

Looks like I'll be filling out loads of paperwork this coming week...
